So I'm doing this interview with a Falcons blogger who calls himself Eric Love. And the funny thing about Falcons fans, which also applies to ol' Eric, is that they have this huge hang up about Michael Vick. At least twice (although you will not be able to read the full interview on Eric's blog), he asked me why I hate Vick so much. And here's the thing, I don't hate Vick, I just can't stand people who think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
It's like the Falcon's fans have taken the "world is against me" mentality made popular by Ron Mexico himself. At some point this Vick hangup goes from being self deprecating to reaching the levels of plain old masochism. You would think Falcons fans couldn't get off until somebody told them Vick was overrated (which he is).
Anyway, I have a difficult time dealing with fans who refuse to apply any rational and objective logic to their favorite team (and that includes Bucs fans). Everybody's got weaknesses, feel free to admit them.
Finally, for all you Mel and Tony fans I have The Hair's picks for this weekend and I will be posting them later. But feel free to leave stalker-like comments if that's your thing.

Admit it, you loved leading your entry with "So I'm doing this interview..." You are so a rock star.
good to have you back John, hope the hand is feeling better.
and if this is how Atlanta fans act when their team has not won anything, I hesitate to imagine how they will respond if the Falcons did win the Super Bowl.
Ski good interview with Erik Love. I agree with you. Demorrio Williams is no Derrick Brooks. I also agree with you about Warrick Dunn. I am a Dunn fan, and he is one of my fantasy football starters. We did not give Dunn up, Gruden wanted Dunn, but So did Arthur Blank's check book. Great Job Ski way to represent the Bucs.
Nice interview, Ski. I didn't know Vick-mania was so rampant in Atlanta (I've only driven through there, and don't know many -- err -- Altantians (?)). Reminds me of being in Knoxville during the Payton Manning years. These people treated this guy like the second coming of Jesus, down to the life-sized posters included in the newspapers before the Tennesee/Univ of Florida games. Sickening, but fun to make fun of.
I gotta say, though, I'm not sure if I agree with you on Chris Simms. Chris just needs to grow into the role of starter, and his growth has been pretty good this year. Following the Manning vein, remember his first year? Not someone you wanted to watch, but he played anyways, and he got better. Now... 'nuff said. Simms may be no Manning, but he's also not that bad, and will one day -- soon -- be pretty darned good. (My $0.0199)
